THE COMPETITORS “ORANGE WHEEL”……. FAILED
The wheel in this picture is constructed using an aluminum core and a thick urethane tread. The de-bonding in this case of the “orange tread” should not have happened, and would more than likely result in a claim from the wheel manufacturer. One thing to consider here is the use of an aluminum core versus an iron one. Had heat played a role in the failure of this caster wheel, the aluminum wheel would be able to better dissipate any heat buildup.
This caster wheel appears to have been used in some kind of a power towed application. That could have been a spin or drum / mixing application or possibly a cart that was power driven. Regardless, the resulting friction generated heat which caused the tread material to become soft and pliant, causing the tread to start to come off of the core where it was originally mechanically bonded at the time of its construction. Poor polyurethane quality resulted in this wheels failure
It is our view that you are not purchasing a mere wheel or caster. You are buying a product which must work for you. The internal handling of materials is an expense. Properly designed wheels and casters can reduce this expense.
CW Ultra Wheel
Our innovative specially formulated polyurethane reduces vibration in the wheel that results in a quieter ride and less wear and tear on the caster and cargo. In addition, the new urethane has been engineered to repel steel chips, slag, pins, nuts, bolts, etc.
These specially formulated wheels helps to absorb vibration and shock and thus protecting the load or cargo while in transit.
Another benefit of these special durometer caster wheels is noise reduction. These caster wheels are non-marking, quiet and debris resistant.
This softer polyurethane measures 80-85 Duromater on the Shore A scale compared with the industry-standard hardness of 90-95 Shore A. Our formula of urethane absorbs energy which offers an energized wheel, allowing the wheel to start rolling easier due to stored energy.
The new formulation of urethane also helps release heat generated from the friction due to contestant use, and towing like you would see in the industrial ongoing tow lines.
The results are numerous, including longer acceptable use of the caster without failure even under continuous use.
The new formulated wheel has found popularity among automotive plants and those customers with industrial towlines wanting to lower factory noise levels, improve floor protection, and reduce tread failures, as well as extend caster life.
Productivity Wheels and casters affect the productivity of equipment and the people who use it. Selecting the proper wheel or caster insures maximum productivity, minimizes long term costs, and provides the greatest return on your investment.
Wheels are the heart of any piece of rolling equipment. Bearings make wheels go and thus affect production. Low grade tires and bearings do not provide profitable performance, especially when trying to adapt them to heavier loads or powered operation. Their use results in costly maintenance, equipment out of service and multipile manpower to move when not power drawn.
The CW Ultra wheel will not pick up debris.
